Q&A: What does the “R” represent, in the generic drug “PMS-clonazepam-R” ?

Question by m: What does the “R” represent, in the generic drug “PMS-clonazepam-R” ?

probably ‘release’ as in time released. clonazepam, like most benzodiazepines (sp?) has a fairly short half-life, so it might be formulated to last longer. my son was Rx clonazepam a few years back (he was about 9, I think) at he had to take it twice a day. eventually, he went (back) to clorazepate for his condition.

to verify that the R means time released, call a local pharmacist (doesn’t have to be your pharmacist).
